Ven. Prof. Dr. Medagampitiye Wijithadhamma Thero is a distinguished Sri Lankan Buddhist monk, scholar, and professor specializing in Pali language and Buddhist studies. He serves as a Professor in the Department of Pali and Buddhist Studies at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ), Sri Lanka, where he teaches, conducts research, and mentors students in Pali texts and grammar.

Born on 6 October 1978, he was ordained as a novice monk on 24 May 1991 and received higher ordination as a bhikkhu on 16 May 1998, dedicating his life to religious scholarship and education.

Prof. Dr. Wijithadhamma is recognized internationally for his academic and teaching contributions in Pali and Buddhist literature. He has been awarded honorary religious titles by foreign Buddhist authorities, including distinctions conferred by the Government of Myanmar, reflecting his expertise and impact in Dhamma education and scholarship.

He is also listed as a member of international Buddhist academic councils, such as the International Council for the Day of Vesak, representing Sri Lankan Buddhism in global scholarly and religious forums.
