Ven. Dr. Akuratiye Nanda Thero

Ven. Dr. Akuratiye Nanda Nayaka Thero is a Sri Lankan Theravāda Buddhist monk, scholar, educator, and senior leader within the Buddhist Sangha of Sri Lanka. Born on 20 January 1954, he has pursued extensive academic training, including postgraduate studies and research degrees in Buddhist studies and related fields.

He holds key positions in Buddhist education and cultural institutions, serving both in monastic leadership and university governance. His work spans monastic education, lexicography (editor-in-chief of the Sinhala Etymological Dictionary), and roles in national Buddhist councils to advance Buddhist learning and cultural preservation in Sri Lanka.
