Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suraphon Suyaphrom is a Thai academic and university leader serving as Vice-Rector for General Affairs at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University (MCU), one of Thailand’s key Buddhist universities. He is also a member of the International Council for the Day of Vesak (ICDV), representing Thailand in global Buddhist collaboration efforts.
Dr. Suraphon holds the academic rank of Associate Professor and works within the Political Science Department, Faculty of Social Sciences at MCU, where he contributes to teaching, research, and administrative leadership.
His educational background includes advanced degrees in political science, including a Ph.D. in Political Science from Marathwada University in India, as well as a master’s degree in politics and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Thai and Indian institutions, giving him a strong foundation in both academic and governance studies.
In his role as Vice-Rector for General Affairs, Dr. Suraphon oversees broad administrative functions of the university, helping shape policy, support academic programs, and foster institutional development. He also participates in international Buddhist academic and cultural exchanges through organizations like the ICDV.
